Angelina Jolie shared information about the support she has received from her children.
In an interview with Best magazine, the Oscar winner spoke candidly about her struggle while filming a biopic of iconic opera singer Maria Callas.
The Hollywood actress recalled how in her first opera lesson she sang for the film Mary that when she had to sing, she “started to cry.”
“I didn’t fully understand until I was standing in this room and Pablo (Larrain, director) had met so many different teachers and found one to start with,” she began by saying.
“The first time he said, ‘Okay. Plant your feet… He took me seriously as a singer, which was already very touching.”
“He said, ‘Take a deep breath and then start making sounds’ – I started crying. Because I think we keep so much in that we don’t really let out. We don’t let our full voice come out.” Jolie continued.
Additionally, the mother of six reflected on the support from her children, telling the report, “I think I knew when I got better because I think at first it was more like they were proud of me for trying so hard.”
“It wasn’t ‘we like your voice.’ He was like, “Good for you, we’re proud of you mom. We know how hard you work.’ Then there was a moment when they started saying, “Actually, hey, you’re doing it, Mom.”
Before we conclude, the Bad The actress shared, “So he was with me at times when I was singing loudly at home — and everyone was probably in their rooms thinking, ‘Oh my God.’ You know, it’s like learning the violin at home.”
For those who don’t know, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt married in 2014 and divorced five years later in 2019. The former couple have six children, adopted and biological, Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, Knox and Vivienne.
