Ahmed Shehzad defends Babar Azam after Peshawar Zalmi’s crash

Ahmed Shehzad has come out of the defense of Babar Azam, after Peshawar Zalmi fell from the HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) 10 after loss of 26 running at Lahore Qalandars in Rawalpindi.

In a post on the X account (formerly Twitter), Pakistan’s test opener hit back in the narrative accusing Governor Zalmi Babar Azam for the team’s derogatory season.

Shehzad argued that Cricket is a team game and that the whole team should be held accountable – not just one player.

The conflict with Zalmi who has to win against Qalandars on Sunday declined due to rain, reducing their target to 150 to 13 overs.

Despite the intense start, they collapsed slowly and ended at 123 for 8, crashing out of the playoff dispute for the first time in the HBL PSL historic.

The steep end of this season brings the curtain down on one of the most consistent routes in the history of the championship.

Peshawar Zalmi, winners in 2017 and finalist four times, had never lost the knockout stage – so far.

The HBL PSL 10 with four wins and six losses were wrapped in, collecting eight points and a net execution rate -0.293.

The play -and -o image is still unfolding, with Karachi Kings and Islamabad United later fought tonight for a crucial point.

The Quetta Gladiators will already face any of the two in the first qualifying of May 21 in Lahore’s land.

The winner will proceed directly to the big HBL PSL 10 finale.

As fans analyze the reasons behind the fall of Zalmi, Shehzad’s cry to support Babar reminds everyone that Cricket remains, above all, a team sport.
