Pakistan suffered a 3-0 whitewash as Australia won by eight wickets in Sydney on Saturday.
Former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi refrained from commenting on Pakistan’s performance after the loss to Australia. Using the social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter), Afridi hinted that he is withholding his views on Pakistan’s performance but praised Aamer Jamal and expressed admiration for David Warner’s brilliant career.
“I’ll reserve my opinion on our team’s performance but certainly Aamer Jamal is a great addition to the team. Congratulations to Australia on the win, he’s been a fan of the never-give-up mentality. @davidwarner31 congratulations on an amazing career and prayers for you future,” Afridi wrote on X.

During Warner’s farewell match, he contributed significantly by scoring 57 runs off 75 balls, helping Australia comfortably chase the 130-run target. Marnus Labuschagne’s unbeaten 62 further fueled the home side’s victory, forming a vital 119-run partnership with Warner.
Sajid Khan managed to dismiss both Australian openers during their second innings. Pakistan struggled, being bowled out for 115 runs in their second innings despite Mohammad Rizwan and Aamer Jamal putting on a 42-run eighth-wicket partnership. Jamal scored 18 runs before falling to a bouncer by Pat Cummins after Rizwan departed for 28 off a Nathan Lyon delivery.
With Aamer Jamal’s impressive bowling figures of six for 69, Pakistan started their second innings with a slender 14-run lead after restricting Australia to 299 runs in their first innings. However, Australia’s pace attack, led by Josh Hazlewood’s 4-16, made a decisive impact, picking up three wickets in the penultimate over of the day. That left Pakistan struggling at 68-7, with an 82-run lead.
Pakistan’s poor run in Australia continued, marking their 17th consecutive Test defeat in the country since their last win in 1995. The hosts secured series wins in the first two Tests held in Perth and Melbourne before sealing their dominance in the Sydney race.
