Pakistan and China have agreed to carry forward their traditional friendship and both the countries will never allow any force to sabotage their all-weather strategic cooperative partnership.
This was stated by Pakistani and Chinese officials in the 7th CPEC Media Forum based on a theme to Enhance New Media Cooperation to Depict the Multidimensional and Comprehensive CPEC hosted in Islamabad.
In his virtual remarks, Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that Zulfikar Ali Bhutto was the architecture of China-Pakistan relations and Pakistan is committed to promote this time tested friendship.
In his speech, Senator Mashahid Hussain said that the media of both the counties is playing an active role in publicizing the CPEC initiative and the future of Pak-China relations is bright.
He said the entire nation and all political leadership are on one page to promote these relations.
Speaking on the occasion, Speaker National Assembly Raja Pervaiz Ashraf has said sharing in the media sector at all levels between Pakistan and China is the need of the hour, which will take bilateral relations to new heights. He said the media has the responsibility to report fairly and factually on CPEC.
He said through events, like CPEC Media Forum, countries can get an excellent opportunity to consolidate the existing all-weather friendship between Pakistan and China.
The Speaker National Assembly said there is a need for large scale outreach efforts towards mitigating the apprehensions of local communities for those vicious propaganda campaigns.
He said through CPEC, China has given a vote of confidence to Pakistan’s potential to build a better future.
Raja Pervaiz Ashraf said Pakistan would leave no stone unturned in upholding this confidence by countering the recent misinformation and propaganda around the project.
He said a multi-dimensional outreach strategy comprising all stakeholders is the need of the hour. Think tanks, media and educational exchanges can also prove instrumental in this effort.
Chinese Charge d’ Affairs to Pakistan Pang Chunxue while speaking at the 7th CPEC Media Forum said any attempt to sabotage the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project would not succeed.
She said friendship towards Pakistan remained the shared consensus in China transcending political differences.
She said the Foreign Minister of Pakistan has reiterated that the China-Pakistan friendship remained the cornerstone for Pakistan’s foreign policy and also was a strategic priority for Pakistan.
She remarked that China and Pakistan would deepen practical cooperation across the board.
