Gold Holds at Rs460,236 as Fuel Stays Flat a Third Day

Gold was unchanged and fuel prices held for a third day as the trading week opened (Pakistan Observer; PSO).

Gold

| | | |—|—| | Gold, tola | Rs460,236 — unchanged | | Gold, 10g | Rs394,578 | | Silver, tola | Rs7,100 | | International | $4,377/oz |

A note on how this is being published

Outlets this morning are reporting gold as down Rs100, with the international price down $1 — figures identical to those published yesterday.

Those were Sunday’s numbers. The rate itself has not moved from Rs460,236, and the “decline” being reported today is the previous session’s move appearing a second time.

Readers should treat a reported change as the change since the rate last moved, not necessarily since yesterday. Both the tola and ten-gram figures reconcile against each other, so the level is sound even where the change is not.

Fuel

Petrol remains Rs389.14 and high-speed diesel Rs424.04. PSO’s published rates still carry the 19 September effective date, meaning no revision on 20 or 21 September.

After eleven revisions in twelve days, the daily mechanism has now been still for three.

Equities

The KSE-100 opens the week from Friday’s close of 170,884.59, up 1,841.39 on the day and 372.73 on the week.

Monday’s close will not be known until after the 15:30 bell.

What is hanging over the week

Wholesale supplies into Rawalpindi and Islamabad have stopped, with about 1,000 containers and trucks seized for security duty and perishables spoiling inside them. Traders warn of price rises of up to 100 percent by week’s end.

The finance minister has put the cost of protest-related shutdowns at Rs120 billion a day.

What is not established

OGRA has published no statement on the absence of fuel revisions. It has not been reported whether trading or settlement will be affected by the restrictions in the capital region.

Update, 21 September 2026, after the bell. The KSE-100 closed Monday at 171,153.16, up 268.58 points or 0.16 per cent, from Friday’s 170,884.58. The day’s range was 170,902.75 to 171,732.62 — a volatile session that finished positive but well below its high. Gold was unchanged at Rs460,236 a tola and fuel prices held for a third day at Rs389.14 and Rs424.04.
