Veteran journalist and publisher, Arif Nizami passes away in Lahore

LAHORE: Veteran journalist Arif Nizami who also served as the caretaker federal minister for information and postal service passed away on Eid ul Adha 2021.

Nizami was being treated at a hospital for the last 2 weeks after suffering a heart attack. He had been shifted to the ICU but did not recover.

The senior journalist was the son of Hameed Nizami, the founder of Nawa-i-Waqt newspapers. He led The Nation to great successes and launched his own newspaper, Pakistan Today.

The funeral prayers of Arif Nizami will be performed at 8 pm at Allah Akbar Masjid in Defence. He will be laid to rest at the Miani Sahib Graveyard of Lahore.
