Usman Buzdar tests negative for Covid-19, ends self-isolation

LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar defeated novel coronavirus, the Punjab government confirmed.

Azhar Mashwani, the chief minister’s focal person for digital media, tweeted on the social networking site: “CM Punjab @UsmanAKBuzdar has recovered from #COVID19 and tested negative in latest test, today. He is in self-isolation for last 2 weeks and was conducting official business remotely!”

Buzdar remained in self-isolation for nearly two weeks, after his coronavirus test result turned positive on December 21, 2020.

The doctors had advised him a complete rest, however, he continued to perform his duties during his period of isolation.

According to National Command and Control Center (NCOC), around 2,118 cases of coronavirus were reported while 52 people succumbed to the disease in the last 24 hours, taking the total death toll to 10,461.

The total number of confirmed cases reached to 492,594. As many as 448,393 patients have recovered from the disease with 2,243 critical cases.
