Two cops martyred, DSP injured in Khyber grenade blast

PESHAWAR: Two policemen embraced martyrdom while another sustained injuries when a hand grenade accidentally exploded in a police centre in District Khyber of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province late Thursday night.

According to KP police, the grenade exploded in the hand of a police official during a routine check at the police centre resulting in the martyrdom of two police officials identified as Shah Muhammad and Aslam and DSP Muhammad Nawaz was wounded.

The deceased and injured were shifted to a nearby hospital. Police sources have categorically denied reports of an attack on the police centre and said that it was an accidental explosion.
