ISLAMABAD: Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has extended the cease-fire for another 5 days.
According to the details, a letter signed by the TTP military commission emir for the north zone, Noor Ullah Mehsud, orders the group’s shadow governors to inform their fighters to cease attacks till 15-May.
Previously, TTP chief Mufti Noor Wali Mehsud issued a statement on the occasion of Eid-ul-fitr, marking the end of the fasting month, and announced 11 days ceasefire. He orders TTP fighters to stop attacks but only respond in defence.
On the other hand, some sources are claiming that the government released 100 TTP prisoners in exchange for this prolonged ceasefire.
