Trump warns pregnant women against the use of tylenol

  • The White House swears to bring health to the US.
  • Trump insists Tylenol is not good.
  • Paracetamol is referred to as the safest painkillers during pregnancy.

Washington: US President Donald Trump on Monday strongly insisted that pregnant women should “harden” and avoid tylenol in an unstable connection to autism and urged significant changes to the standard vaccines given to babies.

The announcement of the Republican leader, full of sweeping but unfounded tips, has come, as the White House has promised to revolutionize health in the United States and, as experts throughout medicine and science are shouting at widespread concern.

Medical groups, including US college of obstetricians and gynecologists, have long reported paracetamol – the main ingredient in tylenol – as among the safest painkillers they need to take during pregnancy.

But Trump, who forged his message in more and more apparent terms, insisted that “taking Tylenol is not good” and “struggle as hell not to get it”.

He said that pregnant women should “harden”, and that only an “extremely high fever” would justify taking the drug without a prescription.

This is not true: fever and pain can create serious threats to both the mother and the developing fetus.

Arthur Caplan, head of NYU’s medical ethics department, called Trump’s “Dangerous”, “Non -Scientific” and “Full Incatlation”.

“I am worried that pregnant women will feel guilty if they took Tyllenol, they will feel that they are frustrated their babies, they will feel that they were immoral about trying to cure fever, this is not fair and it is nothing to feel,” Caplan said.

Ongoing discussion

The Food and Drug Administration was much more implicit than Trump on the subject, saying in a letter to the doctors that “a causal relationship has not been established” and that the scientific debate continued.

A review of the literature published last month concluded that there was a reason to believe that there was a possible relationship between the exposure and the autism of Trenol – but many other studies have found a opposite effect.

The researchers behind the August report warned that more study is required and that pregnant women should not stop taking medication without advising their doctors.

David Mandell, a psychiatric epidemiologist at the University of Pennsylvania, told AFP that investigations indicate the potential risks of taking Tylenol while the pregnant woman seems to be “lower than the risk of having an uncontrolled infection during pregnancy”.

Threat anti-Vax to children

Determination of the root of autism – a complex situation associated with brain growth that many experts believe for mainly genetic reasons – has been a cause for Trump’s head, Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

Kennedy has spread the claims that vaccines cause autism for decades.

On Monday it crossed the drug Leucovorin, a form of vitamin B was used for the first time to relieve the side effects of chemotherapy, as an “exciting treatment” that could help children with the disorder whose symptoms vary widely in a range.

The FDA on Monday said it approves the drug form of the drug to help a subset of children who have “brain leaf deficiency”.

The vaccines were also on the Trump Conference Agenda.

He strongly repeats anti-Vax speech points, as top-notch administration, including Kennedy, shook together.

It has doubted the standard vaccines, including the MMR shot – which covers measles, mumps and red – and implied that it would end the sharing of aluminum in vaccines, whose safety has been widely studied.

And the president has pushed a significant change in the vaccine routine program given to infants, insisting without proven that there is no reason to vaccinate newborns against incurable, extremely contagious hepatitis b.

This statement has been in direct contradiction of the widespread medical consensus formed for decades. Many experts say that the best way to prevent maternal transmission of the disease, which can cause liver damage and cancer, is to vaccinate babies within the first day of life.

Trump’s impulse comes days after an influence of an advisory committee handled by Kennedy, stopped advising to delay the first dose of hepatitis B vaccine by one month.

They believed that more debate was needed – offering temporary relief to many experts throughout public health, who said that posting that the shot could have strong results.

“The distance or delay in vaccines means that children will not have immunity against these diseases in times of risk,” said Susan Kressly, president of the American Academy of Pediatrics, on Monday.

“Any attempt to mislead the sound, strong science is a threat to children’s health.”
