PESHAWAR: The Khuga Khel sub-tribe of Shinwaris in Khyber district continued their protest against National Logistic Cell, NLC for allegedly violating an agreement by occupying additional land for the construction of a customs terminal at Torkhum.
Tribesmen of Khuga Khel tribe said that allegedly fake contract signed between unrepresentative of Khuga Khel tribe, National Logistic Cell and Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) is unacceptable and vowed that till revising of the agreement they will not give up their agitation.
Addressing to a dissent rally, the people who drove it, including Muhammad Zakria Shinwari, Mufti Ijaz, Muqtader Shah Afridi, Maulana Samiullah, and others, said that through months-long gatherings, every one of the shareholders settled on draft yet at the hour of marking service, the agreement was changed entirely, and they refused to sign it. They say the written agreement with NLC was not acceptable to them because it was with a few persons of KhugaKhel and the majority of the elders were not there when they sign the agreement.
They also criticized Commandant Khyber Rifle Col Rizwan Nazir for his negative role and said he created a rift among the tribesmen.
They threatened that till reviewing of the agreement their protest will continue.
Meanwhile, the people from different walk of life hold protest rally and initiated protest set-in on Landi Kotal-Torkham highway in favor of their demand.
They put stones hurdle of mud on the road and suspended it for all kinds of traffic.
The spokesperson of NLC said to media that the agreement had been made with consensus of Khuga Khel tribe and it will be imposed in word and spirit.
