The global increase in type 2 diabetes is an important issue of public health, with over 6% of adults affected today – a number expected to increase to about 7% by 2030.
The World Health Organization (which) states that type 2 diabetes is largely from preventive. Basic prevention strategies include maintaining a healthy body weight and participating in regular physical activity, which can help stop prediabetes – a condition characterized by increased blood sugar and insulin resistance – from progress to complete diabetes.
A recent study published in cardiovascular diabetes – endocrinology reports add to the increasing evidence that exercise plays a decisive role in reducing the risk of developing type 2 diabetes.
The findings indicate that participation in just over two hours of exercise a week can help people with prediabetes reverse the situation and prevent promotion.
Dr. David Cutler, a family medical certification physician at the Health Center of Providence Saint John in Santa Monica, California, who did not participate in the study, explained in an interview with Medical news today:
“The impact of diabetes health is deep. There is an increased risk of almost any class of diseases: heart attack, stroke, renal failure, vascular disease, blindness and infection. Prevent prediabetes or reverse it if already exists.”
Increase in over 150 minutes of physical activity a week has greatly increased the chances of reversing prediabetes, making people four times more likely to return to normal blood sugar levels.
“The study clearly reinforces them for doctors for a long time: Nutrition, control and exercise are the key ingredients in a long and healthy life. And now you can have a specific goal to shoot, 150 minutes of exercise per week”
In addition to regular exercise, maintaining HBA1C levels below 6.0% was identified by researchers as a key factor in enhancing the likelihood of reversal of prediabetes.
