The KSE-100 index drops 2,186 units amid geopolitical tensions

The Pakistan’s Stock Exchange (PSX) reported a remarkable fall on Friday, with the KSE-100 index falling by 1,949.56 points, closing at 122,143.56 amid escalation of the geopolitical tensions that followed Israel’s attack on Iran earlier today.

The KSE 100 Index ended the session of the day, it recorded a decrease of 1.57%.

The index recorded high at 123,058.06 points during the day, while the low reached 121.604.59.

The volume of trading amounted to 238,192,304 shares, with a total value of 19,718,824,728. The index had previously closed at 124.093.12.

Israel has launched an attack on Iran today aimed at the country’s nuclear facilities under the guise of Tehran’s prevention to develop individual weapons.

The attack, which killed the Iranian nuclear scientists and destroyed the 20 leading military commanders, was carried out despite Iran’s long -term persistence that his nuclear activity is for peaceful purposes.

Israel, which is believed to be the only nuclear armed situation in the Middle East, has stated an emergency in anticipation of retaliation by Iran.

Earlier on Thursday, the PSX saw a hectic session, with the KSE-100 reference index hitting a 126,718 interior record before reversing the lesson and closing moderately lower.

At the end of the negotiation, the KSE-100 reference index lost 259.56 points or 0.21%and settled at 124,093.12.

Market volatility continues to reflect wider uncertainties associated with global events.

The first profits were supported by the improved feeling of investors, led by the budget announcement, strong remittances and monetary policy expectations.

However, the struggle lost the steam as the session went on, with a profit in overheated reserves and geopolitical uncertainty around the Middle East, undermining emotion.

Arif Habib Corp MD Ahsan Mehanti said the stocks were under pressure on geopolitical uncertainty and the withdrawal of profit after budget in shares.

“The route to world shares in the tensions of the Middle East, the fall in international crude oil prices and the weak rupee in exports of contracts were among the key factors behind the bearish closure of the market,” he added.

JS Mubashir Anis Naviwala’s world analyst said the index hit the 126,718 prior to profit with 260 points.

The analyst informed investors to watch basic levels of support and use the dives to accumulate stocks focusing on fertilizers, cement and banks for short -term opportunities.
