A five -week infant and a four -year -old child has died of hunger in Gaza, according to hospital officials, as Israel’s exclusion for help and fuel continues.

Al-Shifa Hospital reported the baby’s death, while medical staff at Martyrs Al-AQSA Hospital said the four-year Razan Abu Zaher succumbed to complications from serious malnutrition.

Dr. Muhammad Abu Salmiya, director of the hospital, told Al Jazeera that the infant, who was only 35 days, died of malnutrition during the night. Another person also died of hunger in the hospital the same night, he said.

The Gaza Ministry of Health said the emergency rooms were overwhelmed, with “mass inflow” of patients with starvation. According to the ministry, about 17,000 children suffer from severe malnutrition.

Al Jazeera said the Israeli forces continued to shoot the Palestinians gathering in distribution points, many of which are organized by businesses supported by the United States. Some have described these sites as “death traps”.

The Israeli settlers have also attacked an important water supply system on the occupied West Bank, temporarily reducing the offer to thousands of Palestinians, AFP said.

Subhil Olayan, a water operator watching Ein Samiyah in a Hilltop station, said the attacks have destroyed pipelines and temporarily interrupted the pumping operations.

“There is no life without water, of course,” Olayan told AFP after the attack, which disrupts access to spring -based villages as a main or backup source.

The wells, pumps and pipeline system supplies water to about 110,000 people, according to the Palestinian company managing the installation. Lack of water is a chronic issue on the West Bank and any disorder may have widespread consequences.

“The settlers came and the first thing they did was break the pipeline. And when the pipeline breaks, we must automatically stop pumping,” Olayan said.
“The water goes right to dirt, to the ground,” he added, noting that the repair teams quickly acted to continue service.

Israeli forces killed at least six Palestinians and demolished many political houses in northern Gaza and the city of Gaza on Saturday, according to Al Jazeera reporters and Palestinian sources.

Deaths reported in the early hours of the morning during the ongoing Israeli military operations in the city of Gaza and in the north areas, local journalists said. More details on circumstances were not readily available.

In a separate incident, the Israeli army demolished in the neighborhood of Shujayea, east of the city of Gaza, destroying many houses, in Al Jazeera of Palestinian springs.

Israel’s War in Gaza

The Israeli army began a violent attack on Gaza since October 2023, killing at least 58,667 Palestinians, including 17,400 children. More than 139,974 people have been injured and more than 14,222 are missing and considered dead.

Last November, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.

Israel also faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice for its enclave war. The proposed agreement includes a cessation of hostilities, increased humanitarian aid and negotiations for the liberation of prisoners.
