Taliban chief Haibatullah Akhundzada meets senior officials in Kandahar

KANDAHAR: Mawlawi Hebatullah Akhundzada, the supreme leader of the Taliban, met with officials in Kandahar’s provincial office on Tuesday morning.

According to the details, Akhundzada ordered the officials to regularly consult with the Ulema to improve governance issues.

No photographs, audio clips or videos of Tuesday’s meeting were released to the media. However, it is the first time the Taliban has released an official statement about Akhundzada’s meetings.

Earlier, Taliban officials had dismissed reports about the death of the Taliban chief.
