Reviewed the Agreement on Freight Transport Corridor
Islamabad: The government has revised a draft trade agreement on the special corridor of goods that gives Pakistan’s railways the right to buy assets. Sources told The Express Tribune that a meeting of different stakeholders, chaired by the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, decided that the Railway Department would limit the timetable for the signing of the Phase-II trade agreement. It was agreed that the Phase-i trade agreement would be reviewed by adding an exit clause, according to which Pakistan’s railway stations would have the right to return the assets of the concessionaire to net accounting value
