Down 3.13, Up 3.74

One Way

Gold fell Rs11,300 on Thursday and regained Rs11,200 on Friday, ending Rs100 from where it started. Petrol has risen three times in four days and not once fallen. A column on the difference between a price that moves and a price that ratchets.

7.9

Pakistan raised $3bn this week, its largest ever international bond, at 7.5pc and 7.9pc — close to the most expensive money it has borrowed abroad in over a decade. Both facts are true, and the press release contains only one of them.
