29 children die in Kurram amid prolonged medicine shortage & road closures

PARACHINAR: A critical shortage of medicines caused by prolonged road closures has resulted in the deaths of at least 29 children in Kurram district, according to an official report released on Monday. Dr Syed Mir Hassan Jan, Medical Superintendent of District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital Parachinar, revealed that the hospital has been unable to provide adequate care since October 1 due to a lack of medical supplies and essential facilities. “In addition to the tragic loss of 29 children, numerous other patients have succumbed due to the unavailability of surgical services,” Dr. Jan stated, emphasizing the urgent need for medical supplies
