‘Where Has the 4 Billion Gone?’ – Tarrar Puts KP on the Spot Over Tirah Displacement

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s federal government is ready to cooperate with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on counterterrorism, Information Minister Attaullah Tarar told The Pakistan Daily but not before demanding answers on what happened to the 4 billion rupees the provincial government allocated for displaced residents of Tirah Valley. These exclusive remarks came shortly after a high-powered press conference led by Defence Minister Khawaja Asif, who unequivocally denied speculation that Pakistan’s military was planning a full-scale operation in Tirah valley.  Roughly half the valley’s population is already displaced from the area amidst harsh weather conditions, making movement treacherous. The situation has become a political flashpoint
