The first suspect was handed over to the police with a four-day remand

Amna Aruj, accused in the kidnapping case of well-known Pakistani playwright Khalilur Rehman Qamar, was remanded in custody for an additional four days. This development came after the suspect’s initial three-day physical custody ended and she was produced before the Anti-Terrorism Court in Lahore. The hearing, conducted by Magistrate Nabeela Amir, sought clarification from Aruj on the charges against her. Aruj, who works as a model, said she had only invited Qamar and denied any involvement in the abduction. Further inquiries by the court revealed that Aruj admitted to withdrawing Rs 287,000 from Qamar’s ATM, which she claimed was operated
