Gold hit a record high of Rs 263,700/tola
KARACHI: Gold prices in Pakistan soared to a new record high of Rs 263,700 per tola (11.66 grams) on Saturday, marking a fresh rise of Rs 1,700, according to the All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewelers Association. The metals pricing body said this latest rise follows a $20/ounce (31.10 gram) rise in global gold prices, which rose to Wednesday’s all-time high of $2,512. The recovery in international prices was recorded after Friday’s announcement of prices for local markets by the association, as global gold markets remain closed on Saturdays. The international market had previously seen a cumulative drop of $20/oz
