Islamabad: The cost of consumer goods and power generation is set to rise further after the government on Monday approved recovery of subsidized imported natural gas worth Rs 24 billion for two Punjab-based fertilizer units from industrial and power consumers. The Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) of the Cabinet moved the brief to further extend the period of supply of subsidized imported gas to these two fertilizer units as an additional agenda item. Headed by Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb, the ECC approved the summary despite the petroleum minister’s dissenting note, sources said. The ECC also approved the diversion of the Rs
