Lyles cruises into the men’s 100-meter semifinals at the U.S. Olympic trials
EUGENIOS: Reigning world 100-meter champion Noah Lyles advanced to the 100-meter semifinals at the U.S. Olympic trials by winning his heat in 9.92 seconds on Saturday. Lyles reached Sunday’s semifinals in his first steps toward the 100 meters at the Paris Olympics, easily advancing from the heats at Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon. Lyles was the fastest overall qualifier for the semi-finals with Christian Coleman, the 2019 world 100m champion, second in 9.99. It’s a run of redemption for Lyles, who failed to qualify for the 100m final at the Tokyo Olympics and settled for bronze in a 200m final
