
Minister for Law and Justice Azam Nazeer Tarar has emphasized the need to provide a proper work environment to women with zero tolerance for discrimination, fear and harassment.
He was addressing the inaugural session of the National Women Police Conference in Islamabad, under the theme of “Inspire, Empower, and Transform.”
The Law Minister said nothing, including law and religion, stops women from playing an active and productive role in a profession of their choice.
He said society needs to bring changes in its attitudes towards gender issues to empower women. He said about eighty percent women in the country need cooperation and protection.
Other federal ministers, including Riaz Hussain Pirzada, Ahsan Iqbal, Rana Sanaullah and Sherry Rehman also addressed the conference and highlighted the importance of gender-responsive policing in the country.
