Once again Human life is in danger in Pakistan due to the spread of Omicron and COVID-19.
According to a recent survey, many students have fallen victim to the Omicron and COVID-19 this time around which has put their lives at risk.
This time, the NCOC, the federal and provincial governments and the Ministry of Education are showing a lack of interest in preventing and protecting Corona cases, which is why we are seeing an increase in Corona cases every day.
Yesterday the NCOC said in a statement that the number of patients infected with the COVID-19 is increasing day by day and this time the positive cases rate was more than 12% while the number of critically patients was more than 1200, which is no less than a danger.
Earlier, Federal Minister for Information Fawad Chaudhry while talking to media in Lahore had said that most of the students of schools, colleges and universities were being affected by Omicron but Punjab Education Minister Dr Murad Rass has announced he did not close the school under any circumstances.
The NCOC, in its last meeting, had stated that if the schools, colleges and universities of a city which is most affected by the COVID-19, the government administration of that city can take timely action and seal the institution so, in light of this, the Deputy Commissioner Islamabad started sealing the schools infected with COVID-19 so that the lives of the students could be saved and precautions could be taken strictly.
However, the Rawalpindi administration is once again waiting for an incident like the Murree tragedy and is failing to curb the rise in corona cases. After taking action on media reports, when Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Bazdar suspended the officers who were negligent in the Murree tragedy and new officers appointed in their place, it was seen that these officers have not showed their progress.
That is why the number of COVID-19 diagnoses among the students of Riphah University Al Mezan Campus in Rawalpindi is increasing day by day but the university administration is trying to suppress these cases so that all the reports do not fall into the hands of media.
The university administration take advantage and issue date sheets for student exams so that the government administration and the health department can not seal the campus. The administration of the campus has also told to the students who suffering from COVID-19 to come to the campus and take the exams and they will be provided a separate place to sit.
However, the parents of the students said that the university administration should give a short break in the examinations of the children so that other children can also recover and sit in the examination centers and they warned to the university administration and the Rawalpindi administration that if their negligence endangered the life of any student, the responsibility would fall on the university administration and the government administration.
In view of all these circumstances, the NCOC and the provincial governments should take seriously the increase in the rate of Corona cases so that more lives are not lost like in the past.
