KARACHI: The Sindh health department on Sunday wrote a letter to the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC), seeking to make commercial banks, post offices and courier services bound to “offer their services only to people who are vaccinated through verifying their Nadra vaccination card.”
Separately, the health department in order to “make the vaccination drive more successful” has sent a letter to the home department, asking the restaurants/hotels may “provide their hospitality services (check-in/outdoor dining services) to only those people who are vaccinated.”
It urged the home secretary to issue “necessary directions” to the concerned quarters for strict compliance in this regard.
During the last 24 hours, Sindh has reported 1,016 new coronavirus cases, with 335 infections recorded in Karachi alone, according to an update from the chief minister’s office. Moreover, 5 more people succumbed to the virus, taking the death toll to 6,960.
