ISLAMABAD: The newly appointed Interior Minister threatened action in 72 hours against any one who used derogatory language against the Pakistan Army or any other state institutions.
These remarks came in the aftermath of PDM Chief Maulana Fazlur Rahman’s veiled threat of marching towards Rawalpindi, the city which hosts the General Headquarters (GHQ) of the Pakistan Army.
Sheikh Rasheed held that the PDM has already “accepted defeat” because of its decision to contest the upcoming by-elections.
Commenting on the PTI government’s response to the PDM’s long march in Islamabad/Rawalpindi, Rasheed said the government was ready to welcome the PDM.
He further confirmed that the passport of PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif would not be extended upon its expiry on Feb 16.
