ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed has said that the attack over Sindh House by ruling PTI workers is condemnable and he has ordered the Islamabad police to immediately arrest the protestors and Members of the National Assembly (MNAs).
While speaking to the media, Rasheed said that he has ordered the IG Police Sindh to arrest all the people, including Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf MNA’s, who were involved in the attack.
Rasheed appealed to the PTI workers to refrains from breaking the law and get out of the premises immediately.
He further said that the security in the capital territory has already been tightened, police should not have allowed them to enter the Sindh house.
Earlier, the workers of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Friday barged into Sindh House after breaking the main gate.
This comes hours after PTI workers staged a protest outside Sindh House in the Red Zone area of the federal capital.
A sit-in was called by PTI workers outside Sindh House. The protest turned violent turn as demonstrators broke the gate and stormed inside the Sindh House.
PTI MNA from Karachi Faheem Khan who was also present in the protest outside the Sindh House said that the people voted for them due to Imran Khan and the deserters were traitors.
He also hurled threats to the dissident members of the ruling PTI, who had been staying inside the Sindh House.
PTI MNA Attaullah Khan said that the disgruntled PTI members were elected due to Imran Khan and the workers of the ruling party will go after the potential deserters.
He said that the deserters should come back and apologise to the Prime Minister, adding that if they have any grievances they should tender resignation and contest election.
On the other hand, soon after the PTI workers barged into the Sindh House, police reached and arrested several protesting workers including two MNAs of the ruling party.
Meanwhile, the PTI and Insaf Student Federation (ISF) workers in Faisalabad also protested against MNA Raja Riaz at the Zila Council Chowk.
The protesters demanded Riaz resign from the party. As a result, a heavy contingent of police was deployed outside the MNA’s house for his security.
