Shahbaz Gill assures to assist legendary comedian Umer Sharif for treatment

KARACHI: After the appeal made by legendary comedian Umer Sharif to the Prime Minister of Pakistan for his treatment from abroad, the Pakistan Government has decided to make arrangements for the urgent treatment of the iconic actor.

Celebrated veteran comedian and actor Umer Sharif sent a video message to Prime Minister Imran Khan via a television talk show, requesting the premier’s assistance to receive urgent medical treatment.

Sharif,s message was telecasted in a live talk show on a private Tv channel. In his message Sharif said; “The doctor has told me that I need to go abroad to receive the best treatment,” Sharif said in his message. The eminent comedian said that he helped the current PM in the making of Shaukat Khanum Cancer hospital and now it was time for the PM to help him.

Requesting PM he said “The main issue here is that doctors say Sharif needs to go abroad to receive treatment in the next 15 to 20 days, and I’m doing that only to get the best possible treatment.

The host of that show explained that the treatment of Umer Sharif ailment was only available in three countries that include Germany, the USA, and Saudi Arabia adding that owing to current restrictions imposed amid the pandemic sudden trip could only be arranged through the support of the government.

Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Political Communication Shahbaz Gill was also called on to the show to respond to Sharif’s request. Gill expressed sorrow at the actor’s plight and assured that the government would help him.

Meanwhile, Zareen Ghazal, wife of the comedian Tweeted; “Next 24 hours are critical for Umer kindly pray for his recovery”.
