Sana Mir goes into isolation after testing covid positive

KARACHI: Former Pakistan women’s team captain Sana Mir has tested positive for COVID-19.

The 34-year-old cricketer was part of the broadcast panel for the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy. She was also serving here duties in the ongoing final between Central Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkwa.

ESPN cricinfo reported that Mir had showed symptoms of fever on day three of the match, and subsequently underwent a test, which came positive.

The other members of the commentary panel also underwent Covid-19 tests in Karachi as they were in close contact with Mir.

The report stated that the other members of the production team, who had worked with Mir, were allowed to carry on their roles at the National Stadium.

Mir is isolating at the team hotel at Pearl Continental.

Mir retired on April 25 last year, putting an end to a 15-year long illustrious career. She featured in 226 international matches for Pakistan, including 137 as captain from 2009 to 2017.
