Renowned philanthropist Seth Abid passes away

LAHORE: Renowned philanthropist Seth Abid, 85, died after a brief illness at a hospital in Karachi on Friday night, family sources confirmed.

The 85-year-old, who was one of Pakistan’s first richest persons, launched various charity projects.

Seth Abid was said to had played a key role in the completion of Pakistan’s nuclear program and help to bring equipment from France to Pakistan when the United States imposed sanctions.

Hailing from Kasur, Seth Abid had three sons and three daughters.

Meanwhile, Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar has expressed grief over the death of businessman Seth Abid Hussain and extended heartfelt sympathy and condolences to the bereaved family.
