Recently, another severe wave of terrorism has been witnessed in different parts of Pakistan. In particular, the Balochistan area is seen as a target of terrorists, where in the last one or two days, terrorists have carried out several brutal attacks on security forces personnel and civilians.
Many youths, including a captain officer, have been martyred and many have been injured. Even common people are not safe from terrorist attacks. In the past few days, terrorists seized the police station of the Counter-Terrorism Department in Bannu Cantonment and pressured the government to meet their unjust demands by holding the police officers hostage. If their demand is examined, it turns out that we are living in deception.
The terrorists who took the police officers hostage demanded that they be given a helicopter route to the Afghan territory and transferred to Afghanistan, meaning their safe haven. However, later the SSG force of the Pakistan Army carried out a successful operation and killed 25 terrorists. Two of the police officers who were taken hostage were martyred. The terrorist attack in Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan, is also a link in this chain. The matter does not stop here, the US and Saudi embassies in Islamabad have issued a threat alert to their citizens and instructed them to ensure safety measures. Islamabad Capital Police has also asked the citizens to contact the police in case of suspicious activity in view of a possible attack.
This wave of terrorism has left the citizens in a state of panic. How long will we continue to blame our failures on someone else? We ourselves have been used in this whole game. When the Taliban government was established in Afghanistan, a strong movement was launched on Pakistani social media in support of the Afghan Taliban. They were presented as the bearer of Islam while it was completely forgotten that the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan was also implemented in the support of the Afghan Taliban.
When the Afghan Taliban started occupying Kabul and other cities, they also released all the extremists and terrorists in prisons, including numerous members of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan. After the Afghan Taliban came to power, it was predicted that the land of Afghanistan would no longer be used against Pakistan, but unfortunately, this did not happen, rather these attacks continued to increase.
Now the question arises here whether the Afghan Taliban government is also using the land of Afghanistan against us or we failed to get to the bottom of the matter. It appears that the negotiations between the state of Pakistan and Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan, mediated by the Afghan Taliban, were actually a ploy to strengthen the TTP. During the negotiations, the ceasefire has been used by the TTP and by uniting various groups, they again started attacking the peace of Pakistan. Recently, the brave people of the Swat region of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa decided to stand up against the possible presence of terrorists and reiterated that the peace of the province will not be allowed to be sabotaged.
Defence experts say that in Balochistan, there is a plan between separatist Baloch and TTP fighters to fight together against the state of Pakistan.
Surrounded by poverty and deprived of basic rights, the Balochs have the right to at least protect their lives. If there is any nexus between BLA and TTP, it can create problems for the state of Pakistan in times to come. The security agencies of Pakistan are the vanguard of Pakistan and the guarantor of peace in Pakistan. But there is a dire need for a nexus between these agencies and the security forces. Moreover, the foreign policy of Pakistan should be organized according to the interest of Pakistan and instead of supporting the Afghan Taliban, they should be urged to recognize their government as an interim government and hold elections throughout the country and restore women’s rights.
Security forces should be formed to protect the territory of Afghanistan and they should be capable enough not to allow their territory to be used against any other country. And the people of Pakistan should also be trained in such a way that they can understand terrorists as terrorists and terrorism as terrorism and that is needed for our survival.
