Russian President Vladimir Putin has expressed surprise and disappointment at a recent interview with American TV host Tucker Carlson, criticizing the lack of pointed questions that would have allowed him to respond more forcefully.

In a candid revelation to Russian TV interviewer Pavel Zarubin, Putin revealed his expectation of a more aggressive approach from Carlson.

“To be honest, I thought he would behave aggressively and ask the so-called sharp questions. I wasn’t just prepared for it, I wanted it because it would give me the opportunity to answer in the same way,” Putin said in comments. aired on Wednesday.

In his first interview with an American journalist since Russia invaded Ukraine nearly two years ago, Putin took the opportunity to lecture Carlson on history.

Expressing surprise at Carlson’s minimal interruptions, Putin admitted: “Honestly, I was not completely satisfied with this interview.”

The Kremlin clarified that Putin agreed to the Carlson interview because of the presenter’s different approach to what they perceived as “one-sided” reporting on the conflict in Ukraine by many Western media outlets.

Meanwhile, body language experts weighed in on Putin’s behavior during the interview. Professor Erik Bucy, a body language expert, noticed signs of discomfort in Putin’s posture, citing leg twitches, fidgety hands and a relaxed appearance. Bushi suggested that Putin appeared “weakened” and “not entirely comfortable in his own skin.”

While another pundit claimed Putin looked “dominant” throughout, Bushey highlighted Putin’s discomfort compared to the American TV pundit’s relaxed demeanor.

“Putin doesn’t sit as comfortably as Carlson, nor does he show as much physical discipline,” Bushey explained, pointing to Putin’s leg circling as a possible sign of nervousness or physical discomfort.
