PTI’s entire budget is based on lies: Bilawal Bhutto

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan people’s party (PPP) chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has said that the PTI’s entire budget is based on lies.

Expressing his views on the budget in the National Assembly on Friday, Bilawal said that no one should use the word of ‘Riyasat-e-Madina’ for an illegitimate, incompetent and corrupt government.

He said that the claim of four per cent growth and economic progress is fake. “Why is the historic poverty and unemployment if the country is making economic progress?” he questioned.

The PPP chairman said that each Pakistani lifts the burden of the government’s incompetence when the price of petrol, electricity and gas is increased. “Pakistan has inflation more than India, Afghanistan and Bangladesh,” he maintained.

Referring to the preceding days of chaos in the NA, he claimed the melee in the house was actually an attempt by treasury members to bar the opposition from “exposing the PTIMF budget”.

Bilawal maintained that the country had seen an unprecedented increase in inflation, poverty and unemployment during the PTI’s rule and questioned the authenticity of the government’s claims of economic growth.

PPP chairman pointed out that the government had proposed many indirect taxes in the budget for the fiscal year 2021-22, which would further burden the people and add to their suffering.
