Prince Harry, Meghan Markle’s real ‘vision’ for Netflix’s ‘Polo’ series finally revealed

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle had a clear “vision” behind their Netflix documentaries, Polo.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex served as executive producers for Polowith their company Archewell Productions.

Talking to me PEOPLE magazine, showrunner Milos Balac spoke about Harry and Meghan’s vision behind the documentaries.

He said, “They were wonderful. They were extremely hands-on. They really had a vision to try to make polo accessible to a wider audience.”

Balac went on to say that Harry knew the “in and out” of the sport, adding, “To be able to have him as someone to bounce ideas off of and then also take notes from… “Maybe if you work it out like that, polo will it’s even more exciting or you have to make sure the spot is played that way because that’s how you keep it really accurate.”

“Having a polo expert with him was so special. I think a lot of projects have EPs that can give great notes, but it’s rare to have someone who’s really an expert on what you’re documenting,” he said. added.

In addition, Balac said Meghan played a key role in capturing the lighter and more accessible side of the sport.

“I think I spoke to them before I went to a polo match and they were [Meghan] that really prepared me for how great casual polo can be,” he said.

Balac said Polo is “a lot of people pulling up in their trucks and their cowboy boots, if not bare feet, with their dogs and their families and their kids to watch the game they love,” and his Megan he said this is “what he loves”.

“She also likes to queue at a polo match, and that gave me a lightbulb in my head where I was like, ‘Oh, this world isn’t really going to be what I think it is, in a good way. And we were then able to dig deeper into all the ways that she’s not what people assume she is,” Balac added of Meghan.

It is worth mentioning that the Polo The documentaries, which also feature an appearance by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, premiere on Netflix on December 10, 2024.
