ISLAMABAD: President Arif Alvi will address a joint session of the parliament on September 13.
The fourth parliamentary year of the government would begin with the president’s address.
Adviser to Prime Minister on Parliamentary Affairs Babar Awan called on National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser and took up the president’s address, legislation and the calendar for the new parliamentary year.
The PM aide told the speaker that the calendar for the new parliamentary year has been prepared and it will be submitted to the House Business Advisory Committee.
The speaker said the pending laws especially public welfare-related legislation would be approved in the fourth parliamentary year on a priority basis.
Qaiser commending three years performance of the government said that several public welfare bills have already passed in the third parliamentary year.
