Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) leader Chaudhry Shafay Hussain said that his party is not in the process of merging with any other political party.
Expressing his thoughts in Lahore, Hussain clarified, “The seat adjustments may occur in specific constituencies with the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, the PML-Q is committed to maintaining its independent identity”.
He went on to confirm that candidates representing the PML-Q will participate in the upcoming elections using the tractor symbol.
Earlier this month, PML-Q Chief Organiser Chaudhry Sarwar had welcomed the election date announcement on February 8.
The former Punjab governor had urged the electoral watchdog and administration to hold transparent polls. He underscored the importance of the elections in the country. ‘’The democracy in the country will be strengthened due to the elections,’’ he added.
Sarwar stressed the importance of a level playing field for all political parties.
He was of the view that the elections based on any ‘’doubts’’ will further harm the country.
