PM Khan’s pins blame of sexual crimes on misuse of mobile phones

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan on Wednesday claimed that sexual crimes are increasing in the country due to the “misuse” of mobile phones.

PM Khan’s remarks came days after a woman TikToker and her associates were harassed and attacked by a mob at Greater Iqbal Park in Lahore.

Addressing the Punjab Education Conference in Lahore on Wednesday, Imran Khan said that apart from providing quality education to the youth along with the use of modern technology, it is necessary to guide and educate about the qualities of Seerat-e-Nabi (PBUH) for building their character.

Commenting on the Minar-e-Pakistan tragedy, Imran Khan said that the incident was disturbing and such incidents are not part of our culture and religion. He said that the respect that women were getting in our country in the past was not seen anywhere in the world. Women in the West did not get the respect that they used to get here.

Imran Khan said that such incidents are happening because our children are not being guided properly.

He further said that sexual offences are increasing due to the misuse of mobile phones. Imran Khan expressed regret that the previous rulers had never given anything in the field of education as it was not their priority. He said that no one in the country ever thought of a single curriculum.

Previously PM Imran called sexual crimes the fault of the West. Then it was Bollywood. Now PM claimed that it’s a misuse of technology.
