ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan has refused to accept the resignation of a filthy rich Iqama Holder, Tabish Gauhar, who currently serves as a Special Assistant to the Prime Minister.
The Pakistan Daily has seen evidence that Tabish Gauhar currently holds a UAE Iqama, despite serving in the Prime Minister’s cabinet.
Multi-millionaire Tabish Gauhar had earlier served in the Abraaj Group, which was owned and controlled by convicted money launderer Arif Naqvi, who is also a close friend and an alleged financier of Imran Khan and PTI.
According to the documents, Gauhar has a residency Iqama for Dubai since 1999 but he did not publicly announce it until February 12 this year, in writing.
The total number of Imran Khan’s cabinet members who hold permanent residencies in other countries, namely the United States, Canada, UAE, and UK, are six.
SAPM on Overseas Pakistanis Zulfi Bukhari is a British citizen while two other special assistants who resigned recently, Nadeem Afzal Chan and Shahzada Qasim, are permanent residents of Canada and the US respectively.
Special assistant Dr Shahbaz Gill, SAPM for National Security Moeed Yousaf, special assistant Rauf Hassan and SAPM on Petroleum Division Nadeem Babar are US green card holders.
