PM Khan extends Diwali greetings to Pakistan’s Hindu community

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan has extended Diwali greetings to Pakistan’s 3 million strong Hindu community.

In solidarity with the Hindu community of Pakistan, the government declared an optional holiday for the Hindy community so that they could happily celebrate the ‘Festival of Lights’ in Pakistan.

Distinct Poojas will be held in various temples as the Hindu community observes a special holiday where sweets will be distributed and fireworks will be launched.

Diwali is always celebrated at the end of every autumn in order to commemorate the victory of Hindu god Lord Rama also known as Ramachandra over the evil Ravana.

Divali is usually celebrated for five days and it marks the beginning of the new year of Hindu calendar.
