Wear your undergarments is a new requirement for the cabin crew of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), the nation’s flag carrier.
In an odd new development, the national carrier has instructed its flight crew to always wear undergarments. According to PIA, the lack of improved dress by the flight attendants “portrays a negative image” of PIA and leaves a “poor impression.”
“With considerable concern, it has been noted that some members of the cabin crew choose to wear casual attire when flying intercity, staying in hotels, and visiting various establishments.
Such attire gives the wrong impression to the onlooker and gives a bad impression of the organization as well as the wearer of “an internal document with instructions.
The “appropriate attire” for the cabin personnel includes formal plain clothes and “suitable undergarments.”The rule said that both men and women should dress in a manner consistent with our culture and national morals.
In another development, Aviation and Railways Minister Khawaja Saad Rafique held a meeting at the PIA office to discuss steps to improve the services of the national carrier.
The minister issued instructions to make the in-flight entertainment system functional for the passengers as soon as possible.
The participants of the meeting were also briefed on the plan to replace the old seats with better and more comfortable ones.
The minister observed that an in-flight entertainment system and better seats were a long-standing demand of PIA passengers.
