Pervaiz Malik laid to rest at Miani Sahib graveyard

LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Lahore President and Member of National Assembly Pervaiz Malik, who passed away on Monday, has been laid to rest at Miani Sahib graveyard.

Earlier, the funeral prayer of Pervez Malik was attended by Shahbaz Sharif, Federal Minister Chaudhry Monis Elahi, Senator Ijaz Chaudhry and Provincial Minister Mian Aslam Iqbal. Justice Umar Ata Bandial and people from the judiciary, business communities were also present.

Born in Lahore on November 18, 1947, Malik Pervez was elected to the National Assembly five times. In 1997, he won NA-95 from Lahore. Victory from NA-120 in 2002 was his destiny.

He won NA-123 in the by-elections of 2010 and also came to the notice of the people from NA-123 in 2013. He was also elected MNA in the 2018 elections. He was also the Federal Minister for Commerce and Textiles from August 4, 2017, to May 31, 2018.

PML-N President and Leader of the Opposition Shahbaz Sharif expressed grief over the demise of senior party leader Pervez Malik. He said that today the party has lost a very capable, loyal, brave, sincere leader and a very good man.

Senior PML-N leader Pervez Malik was a member of the National Assembly from NA-133 Lahore.
