Pakistan’s COVID-19 death toll reaches a whopping 7000

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s COVID-19 death toll has reached a whopping 7,000, TPD Investigations Desk has learnt.

Here is the breakdown of total deaths.

  • Punjab: 2,420
  • Sindh: 2,687
  • Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: 1,290
  • Balochistan: 154
  • Islamabad: 244
  • Gilgit-Baltistan: 93
  • Azad Jammu and Kashmir: 112

It had also emerged that Pfizer’s vaccine has a success rate of 90% but the Chairman of Prime Minister’s Taskforce on Science and Technology Dr Atta ur Rehman on Tuesday remarked that the Pfizer vaccine, being celebrated worldwide was not suitable for Pakistan.

“The first problem is that the FDA has not given the approval, the regulatory bodies have to approve and will take two months,” Dr Rehman said.

Dr Rehman also highlighted that the Pfzier vaccine needs to be kept at a temperature of -80 °C, which in his view was a major problem for third world countries, including Pakistan.

There have been over 50 million infections of COVID-19 which resulted in 1.26 million deaths.
