Pakistan successfully test-fires Shaheen III missile

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan conducted a successful test launch of the medium-range Shaheen-III surface-to-surface ballistic missile with a range of 2,750km (1,710 miles), the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Wednesday.

The missile test, conducted on Wednesday, “was aimed at re-validating various design and technical parameters of the weapon system”, said a statement from the military’s press wing.

The statement said the missile’s point of impact was in the Arabian Sea, and that the test was witnessed by General Nadeem Raza, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC), Director General Strategic Plans Division, Commander Army Strategic Forces Command, Chairman NESCOM, the scientists and the engineers.

Pakistan’s President Dr Arif Alvi, Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan, CJCSC and three service chiefs have congratulated the scientists and engineers, associated with the production of strategic arms for the military, on the successful missile test.
