The second day of the IMC Over-40 T20 Cricket World Cup 2025 saw Pakistan register their second consecutive win and UAE’s Malik Qamar Abbas create history with the first century of the tournament.

At the National Bank Stadium in Karachi, Pakistan defeated Hong Kong by 57 runs to maintain their unbeaten run.

Batting first, Pakistan posted an impressive 192 for four. Vice-captain Fawad Alam led the way with a brisk 56 off 28 balls, supported by Tariq Mahmood’s 46 off 27. In reply, Hong Kong managed 135 for six in their 20 overs.

Mohammad Suleman took three for 35, while Zulfiqar Babar took two for 16.

Fawad Alam was named player of the match.

At the Southend Club, the UAE beat the West Indies by five wickets, led by a superb unbeaten 100 from Malik Qamar Abbas. His 57-ball knock, with 11 fours and five sixes, made him the first over-40 World Cup T20 centurion. West Indies had earlier set a total of 139 for five.

At the Karachi Gymkhana, Rest of the Gulf defeated Zimbabwe by four wickets. Zimbabwe posted 107 for nine, which the Gulf side chased down with three overs to spare.

In another match at the National Stadium, Sri Lanka scored 173 for eight against USA but the American team achieved the target with five wickets in hand. Suneth Sabath and Anwar Ahmad scored impressive half-centuries.

South Africa produced the most dominant performance of the day, routing Canada by ten wickets at the Karachi Gymkhana. Canada were bowled out for just 64, which South Africa chased down without loss. Nathaniel Howard grabbed five wickets and was named man of the match.

At the Southend Club, Australia sealed a 43-run victory over the Rest of the World. Australia scored 151 for seven as the opposition folded for 108 in the chase.
