The Embassy of Pakistan in Baku, in collaboration with the Pakistani Language and Culture Center at the Azerbaijan University of Languages, organised a literary event highlighting growing cultural and literary exchanges between Pakistan and Azerbaijan.
The event, titled “Bridge Between Languages: Presentation of Azerbaijani–Urdu Literary Translations,” featured the launch of the Azerbaijani translation of Towards the Goal (Mənzilə Doğru) by Pakistani motivational speaker and author Qasim Ali Shah.
It also included the presentation of the Urdu translation of Sehrbazlar Dərəsi, a noted work by Azerbaijani academic and scholar Professor Kamal Abdulla, Rector of the Azerbaijan University of Languages.
Pakistan’s Minister of State for Federal Education and Professional Training, Wajiha Qamar, inaugurated the event.

Members of Azerbaijan’s Milli Majlis, including Tamam Jafarova and Rizvan Nabiyev, also attended and spoke about the longstanding ties between Pakistan and Azerbaijan.
The programme featured a photographic exhibition by Virginija Morgan-Hayat, showcasing Pakistan’s culture, heritage and landscapes. She also shared her experiences and reflections on the country.

A documentary titled Salam Pakistan was screened during the event, while guests were also served Pakistani cuisine and desserts.
The gathering brought together parliamentarians, academics, writers, students, media representatives and participants from various sectors.

Organisers said the event highlighted the role of literary and cultural exchanges in strengthening people-to-people ties and further developing the longstanding relationship between Pakistan and Azerbaijan.
