LONDON: Mian Nawaz Sharif has revealed that his daughter, Mohtarma Maryam Nawaz Sharif has been threatened to be “smashed” if she did not change her ways.
In a video released on social media, the former premier also mentioned how Mohtarma Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s hotel room was broken into at night in Karachi a few months.
“I want to warn those who give threats in a godly tone, that if anyone carries out any action, then besides Imran Khan, General Qamar Javed Bajwa, General Faiz Hameed and General Irfan Malik will be responsible,” Nawaz Sharif said about the threats to his daughter.
This is not the first time Mian Nawaz Sharif has named senior generals of Pakistan’s army. In a PDM jalsa held in Gujranwala, Mian Nawaz Sharif had alleged that senior generals of the Pakistani army had played a role in installing Imran Khan as Prime Minister.
Nawaz Sharif praised Maryam’s bravery for standing up for civilian supremacy and the sanctity of the vote. “Allah will protect her,” the PML-N supremo said.
Commenting on the threats to Maryam Nawaz Sharif, Mohtarma Reham Khan said: “After the judicial murder of Zulfiqar Bhutto & the assassination of the first Muslim female PM of Pakistan we have a vocal democratic female leader being threatened. Why is the world silent? Does democracy in Pakistan not suit the international community? Do they prefer puppets?”
