Nawaz Sharif: “Bureaucracy should not facilitate Imran Khan’s political victimisation”

LONDON: Speaking to reporters outside Stanhope House in London, PML-N Quaid, Mian Nawaz Sharif said that the bureaucracy should not facilitate Prime Minister Imran Khan’s political victimisation campaign.

“Our land (in Raiwind), was bought 30 years ago, we have the title page, the transaction was done according to the rules but because Imran Khan has failed on all fronts and he can’t run the government, he is trying to attack us personally because of vindictive personality,” the three time prime minister said.

Mian Nawaz Sharif held that in order to put a curtain on his failures, Imran Khan was engaging in political victimisation of the highest order.

According to the PML-N supremo, every document regarding the purchase of the Raiwind land, was legal and accounted for, which is why, he believed that the bureaucracy should not facilitate Imran Khan’s political victimisation campaign.

“I hope that the Chief Secretary Punjab and IG Punjab and their team that they won’t become a facilitator in Imran Khan’s political victimisation and will operate according to the law and constitution for which the state of Pakistan has appointed them,” Nawaz Sharif said, warning the bureaucracy in Punjab not to work on Imran Khan’s personal agenda.

Nawaz Sharif mentioned how his family and party leaders were subjected to jails in false cases and that these acts could not be forgotten.

Earlier, it emerged that the Punjab government was considering a massive operation to demolish a part of the Jati Umra residence in Lahore which houses the Sharif family.

Sources within the Punjab government claimed that the transfer of 127 kanals of land within the compound was suspicious, however, a court stopped the Punjab government from taking any action in this regard.
