Nausheen Shah shares hard lessons from depression

Nausheen Shah honestly talked about her battle with depression, describing a long and difficult time that kept her away from work and public life. In a recent appearance at Hasna Mana Hai, the actress discussed her mental health races and her decision to quietly return from the entertainment industry.

Responding to Host Tabish Hashmi’s question about her absence from the films, Shah explained that he had been involved in serious depression that influenced her ability to work. “My functionality was very disturbed. I couldn’t eat. I sleep or edit things around me. I felt a strange fear. It was very dark. It’s a miracle that came out of it,” he said.

For Shah, the disease was not only characterized by sadness, but by a deep emotional numbness. “You have normal emotions where you can feel happy, sad or excited, but if you feel depressed at the point where you can’t edit any emotion and feel empty, then that’s serious,” he said. “This is the stage where it is important to refer to a doctor.”

The experience, she recalled, left the disoriented and incapable of dealing with the world around her. “I would just like to move on to what the next person used to say, it doesn’t really get what they say or a feeling because of the chemical imbalances in my brain. I lost all the functions and I couldn’t explain the feeling to others,” he said. “I felt like a dark hole. I would be in bed for 60 to 70 days and I would be so worried if my mother tried to leave my bed.”

Shah previously talked about his mental health-in 2019, described a seven-year struggle with depression and anxiety. Its recent observations offer a more detailed look at what this period looked like and how it finally started to recover.

He also used the platform to encourage others to pay attention to their mental well -being. “If you feel happy or sad then this is normal, but if you get to a point where there is a happy or sad occasion and you just feel nothing, then you recognize it at this point,” he said. “Ask for professional help, it is very important. If you do not seek professional assistance and continue to self -healing, the situation may deteriorate.”

Now on the other side of her darkest days, Shah is getting ready to return to work. She will soon make her debut in the film as Chandni in the upcoming JHOL feature.
