LAHORE: Mohtarma Maryam Nawaz Sharif has demanded justice for her father, former Prime Minister Mian Nawaz Sharif after the death of Judge Arshad Malik who convicted him in a corruption case.
Nasir Butt, a loyal Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) stalwart had presented videos of Judge Arshad Malik confessing that he convicted Mian Nawaz Sharif under pressure and blackmailing.
Speaking exclusively to The Pakistan Daily, Nasir Butt, the central character of Judge Arshad Malik’s confession said: “I was constantly in touch with Judge Arshad Malik who wanted to express the entire conspiracy against Mian Nawaz Sharif but now he has passed away. May he rest in peace.”
In a series of tweets, Mohtarma Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the Senior Vice President of the PMLN stated that the judge passed away one and half years after his confession but her father Nawaz Sharif could not get justice in that time.
“Who is responsible for Nawaz Sharif not getting justice in one and half years. The case which declared Nawaz Sharif as a proclaimed offender was heard quickly but why wasn’t a single hearing conducted on the judge’s confession,” the PML-N leader asked.
Mohtarma Maryam Nawaz Sharif added that her family was fighting a war for civilian supremacy and that her father Nawaz Sharif was removed on the basis of an Iqama just to install a puppet prime minister.
“Before Judge Arshad’s Malik’s death, I want an answer about the death of justice (in this case)”, Maryam Nawaz Sharif roared on Twitter.
The young PML-N leader who many view as the future prime minister of Pakistan continued her diatribe against the conspirators against her family asking: “A three time prime minister was declared a fugitive but why wasn’t any commission formed on the judicial conspiracy against Nawaz Sharif? Why wait for the death of a person who was ready to say a lot?”.
Maryam Nawaz Sharif also corrected a quote by Dunya TV which claimed that her uncle, Mian Shehbaz Sharif had cautioned her to, “not go to far”.
“No he didn’t say anything like that at all. He actually said that by not getting lured into backstabbing MNS, he sleeps peacefully and has no regrets. It was the two of us alone so ‘andar ki kahani’ not possible. Thank you,” Mohtarma Maryam Nawaz Sharif said.
